Student Placements

Walsall Council’s Adult Social Care service (Access, Assessment & Care Management) currently employs 106 qualified social workers all of whom are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
 

  •  As an employer with statutory duties to provide social work support to residents within the Borough, Walsall Council is committed to supporting the development of the social work profession and the Continuing Professional Development of its social workers.
  • Walsall Council has set out its commitment to the Universities of Wolverhampton, Birmingham and Staffordshire to provide regular placements for students undertaking the B.A. and M.A. degree courses in Social Work. 

The College of Social Work (TCSW) endorses programmes to signify that they have met professional quality standards which go beyond the threshold standards required by HCPC. They also identify the Criteria for students undertaking placements and the placement provider.
