E-Learning

There are a number of benefits associated with e-learning one of which staff have the freedom to learn when and where they want, and at their own pace in convenient locations, which reduces time spent away from the workplace.

Social Care Institute for Excellence offer a range of free e-Learning courses click here for details. 
 
The Council also offers a range of e-learning opportunities which can be accessed via e-Central.  Current modules include corporate, mandatory, recommended, directorate and role specific. 

 

Learning and Development offer a number of e-learning courses specific to adult social care see below, more recently  for Carers there are now updated versions of the e-learning, ‘Carers Aware’ sessions, incorporating changes made with the introduction of the Care Act 2014, and the Children’s and Families Act 2014.

 

Council staff can visit  Learning and Development for details on e-learning.  Visit select a course for a range of  e-learning courses available now! or see here for a list of all available courses, Alternatively go straight to e-central and log in to access a wider range of courses. 

Please note for Council staff your initial log in is your employee number followed by welcome as your password (please remember to change your password after signing in).

For non-council staff you will be provided with a temporary licence to access the Learning Pool, which will last for up to four weeks whilst you complete the training.   To be granted permission for obtaining a temporary licence please contact learninganddevelopment@walsall.gov.uk sending details of first and second names, e-mail address and external organisation name / location.
