Social Work

Social work is a profession that is very much people centred – professional social workers can be involved in the lives of babies, in some cases even before they are born through to older people. The profession works to protect vulnerable people, enhance relationships and help families to stay together where possible and enable people to live fulfilled lives as independently as possible. The profession works closely with other professions such as education, health, the police and probation services. What does a Social Worker do? The Assessment and Care Management perform a wide range of functions, for more information on  see here

Social Work England will be the new, specialist regulator for social workers in England. They are an independent public protection body, setting professional, education and training standards for social workers.
